Appeal / Hearing Request

To ensure fairness, CCHA has established a three-step procedure for you to dispute decisions about your lease agreement or housing discussion.

The steps below summarize our hearing process.

Informal Hearing Process

  • Resident Must Submit Their Request Either In Person At The Main Office Located At 3701 Ayers, Or May Mail Their Request To The Main Office (Postmarked Within 10-Days Of Receipt Of A 10 Or 30-Day Lease Termination Notice)
  • An Appointment Letter Will Be Mailed To The Resident That States The Date/Time Of The Informal Hearing
  • The Resident Must Personally Present The Grievance, Have Any Documents They Wish To Be Presented, And Be Represented By Counsel Or Another Representative At The Hearing
  • The Hearing Panel Will Have 10-Days To Make A Determination And Issue A Formal Response
  • If The Ruling Is In Favor Of The Resident; Termination Proceedings Will Stop
  • If The Hearing Is Not In Favor Of The Resident; The Resident Will Have 10-Days To Request Formal Hearing

Appeal A Decision / Action

  • An appointment letter will be mailed to the resident that states the date/time of the Hearing
  • The resident must personally present the request for appeal, have any documents they wish to be presented, and be represented by counsel or another representative at the hearing
  • The CEO/Formal Hearing Officer will have 10-days to make a determination and issue a formal response
  • If the ruling is in favor of the resident; termination proceedings will stop
  • If the hearing is not in favor of the resident; the termination will continue and a 3-day Notice to Vacate will be issued
